After a short introduction, we were guided through the power plant and gained interesting insights into its operations. We learned how electricity and district heating are generated and how the different systems are monitored and controlled. One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to the control room, where the entire plant is supervised.
We also visited the training workshop, where we learned more about the practical training opportunities and different careers at Stadtwerke Flensburg.
The visit gave us a better understanding of the technology behind everyday energy supply and showed us how much work is required to keep it running reliably.
